The basic philosophy has been to develop technology that reconciles the natural and the human environments. We have sold more than 35 million 2-stroke engines since 1955, and their engines now meet the USA's exhaust gas emission requirements—the most stringent in the world. We are now world leaders in meeting environmental standards.

The market changes over time as it demands more complex, technically superior machines. Our development concept has always been to make products that are lighter, safer and easier to use. However, the market demands machines that are more powerful, faster, more automated and offer more comfort. By communicating closely with our customers from the very beginning, we produce products that meet the demands of our users and, in so doing, push technology forward.

The objective of our R&D is to develop high performance products that combine various opposing factors, including low noise with high power and low weight with outstanding durability.

In this present day and age, questions about the environment are being of asked of businesses and people have high expectations from the solutions offered by technological development.

Indeed, we worked hard to earn ISO certification, and our efforts were rewarded in 1994 when we became the first in the industry to be granted ISO9000 certification. Furthermore, with company responsibility being recently placed on giving consideration to the environment, full consideration is given to the ecological impact by our production facilities. We have created an environmental management system for our Yokosuka Plant and have acquired ISO14001. We are now actively working hard to protect our natural environment for future generations.

Balancing being friendly to the environment and humans and improving working efficiency are two things that technology needs to achieve. Through our R&D, our aim is to produce world beating outdoor power equipment and machinery for use in the forestry and agricultural industries.
